Abby Kushina | Graduate Assistant Coach
Abby Kushina joins the McKendree women’s lacrosse staff as the graduate assistant coach for the 2021-22 season after playing four seasons at Illinois Wesleyan University.
In her career with the Titans, Kushina played in 76 season games and made 68 starts, leading her to earn the Most Valuable Offensive Player award her freshman year in 2015. She helped her team to a 2x CCIW Tournament Champion title in 2017 and 2018, CCIW Regular Season Champion in 2018, D3 NCAA Tournament Second Round in 2017, and D3 NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen in 2018. Kushina was a 4 year starter on attack/midfield and holds career records for the Titans Lacrosse team. She is 5th in points (166), 4th in goals (110), 7th in assists (56), and 6th in ground balls (104).
At Illinois Wesleyan University, Kushina earned her degree in English writing with a concentration in creative writing. She received Dean's list honor four times and was a four year recipient of the IWU Alumni Scholarship and Alumni Grant.
Kushina also takes on the role of being the head coach of the JV Girls Lacrosse team at Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Missouri and is a lacrosse coach at 410 West Lacrosse in St. Louis Missouri.
