Leemon Field

Leemon Field is the home facility for the McKendree Football, Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Track and Field, and Women's Lacrosse (first competition season in Spring 2013) teams. The home and visitor bleachers combine for a capacity of approximately 2,000 people and parking is available in the main campus' upper and lower parking lots adjacent to the field.

An artificial field surface was first installed on the playing field by GameDay Classic Turf in 2005. Lights were also installed during the summer of 2007. The artificial surface and lights allow both McKendree athletic teams and campus organizations to utilize the facility night and day year-round. The all-weather track surface was first installed in 1996 and the surface was refurbished and restriped in July 2011. A new turf playing surface by Shaw Sports Turf was installed during the summer of 2015.

The McKendree football team has won seven Mid-States Football Association-Midwest League championships since playing at Leemon Field in 1996. The Bearcats have a record of 59-16 at Leemon Field and have won over 78 percent of their games at home.

The McKendree men’s soccer team won three American Midwest Conference regular season championships since the program began playing at Leemon Field in 2005. The men’s soccer team is 43-12-8 at Leemon Field for a win percentage of 74.6 percent on its home turf.

The McKendree women’s soccer team won won six of its 10 AMC regular season championships while playing at Leemon Field. Since 2005, the Bearcats have won over 86 percent of their home contests.

The AMC Outdoor Track and Field Championship was held at Leemon Field from 2008-2011. The men’s and women’s teams combined to win their respective AMC outdoor championship seven times.
